HOW DO I UPLOAD A PHOTO?

In the upper-right hand corner, you will see your profile picture or a shadow icon if you have not uploaded a photo to your member profile yet. Click on it to open a pop-up showing the PROFILE button. After selecting the PROFILE button you will be taken to your EMDRIA community profile page. On the left hand side you will see either your current profile photo or a shadow icon. Under the picture or icon, select ACTIONS and then select Change Picture. You may choose a file from your computer or import one from various social media or cloud based platforms (choices are located on the left hand side). After selecting your desired picture, you will be asked to crop the photo. Move the highlighted box to a suitable spot on your profile picture and select Save. If you decide to change or delete your photo at any time – navigate back to your EMDRIA community profile page and follow the above directions. Please note, if you would like the same profile picture on both the EMDRIA community site and the EMDRIA member's site - you will need to upload each photo to each page.

HOW DO I UPDATE MY PROFILE?

From this page you can make edits by selecting the pencil icon next to BIO, CONTACT DETAILS, etc. and even provide links to your Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter page (if desired). The EMDRIA staff encourages you to spend a few minutes and provide members with more information about YOU!

HOW DO I CONTROL WHAT INFORMATION IS VISIBLE IN MY PROFILE?

Navigate to your profile page, then select the “My Account” tab and choose “Privacy Settings” from the drop-down menu. This will let you control what information is visible to whom. After you’ve made changes, click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.

WHAT ARE COMMUNITIES?

Communities allow you to participate in discussions and share resources with other EMDRIA members. You will only be able to post if you are an active member of EMDRIA.

WHAT COMMUNITIES DO I ALREADY BELONG TO?

Go to “Communities” in the main navigation bar. Select “My Communities” to view the communities you currently belong to.

HOW DO I JOIN A COMMUNITY?

Click on “Communities” in the main navigation bar and click on “All Communities” in order to see a list of available EMDRIA communities. Click on the community that you wish to join and simply click “Join”, then choose a delivery option for posts (Real Time, Daily Digest or No Email).

HOW DO I LEAVE A COMMUNITY?

Go to your profile and click on the “My Account” tab. Choose “Community Notifications” from the drop-down menu. Here, you will see a list of available communities and those to which you’re a member of. Select “Leave Community” under the Actions column for the discussions you wish to leave.

HOW DO I START A NEW DISCUSSION THREAD?

Go to “Participate” > “Post a Message”. From an email (HTML version) for a particular discussion, you can use the “Post Message” link located at the top of the discussion email.

HOW DO I RESPOND TO OTHER'S POSTS?

To respond to a discussion post, navigate to the discussion post and click “Reply to Discussion” to send your message to the entire community. To send a message to the author of the post, select “Reply to Sender” (located in the Reply to Discussion” drop-down). We recommend replying to the sender for simple comments like “me, too” that add little value to the overall discussion; and replying to the entire community when you are sharing knowledge, experience or resources that other EMDRIA members could benefit from.

HOW DO I CONTROL THE EMAILS I RECEIVE FROM THE EMDRIA COMMUNITY?

Navigate to your profile and click on the “My Account” tab. Choose “Community Notifications” from the drop-down menu. On that page, there are subscription options: Real Time, Daily Digest and No Email. Real Time emails will be sent to you moments after a post or reply is made in the discussion you have joined. Daily Digest emails are received once a day. If you prefer to visit the discussion on your own time, select No Email.

WHAT ARE GENERAL EMAILS AND HOW DO I EDIT MY NOTIFICATIONS FOR THEM?

General Emails are messages alerting you to participation opportunities from members and administrators. To change your notification settings, navigate to your profile page and under “My Account” select “Email Preferences”. You may choose to continue to receive these messages or select to not receive them. You may also send these emails to another email address by selecting “please specify a new email address”. If you have made any changes, be sure to save your them at the bottom of the page.

WHAT ARE COMMUNITY EMAILS AND HOW DO I EDIT MY NOTIFICATIONS FOR THEM?

Community Emails are invitations to join a community and emails from community administrators (non-discussion email). To change your notification settings, navigate to your profile page and under “My Account” select “Email Preferences”. You may choose to continue to receive these messages or select to not receive them. You may also select to stop receiving community messages from certain communities. If you have made any changes, be sure to save your them at the bottom of the page.

WHAT ARE CONTACT REQUESTS?

Contact Requests allow EMDRIA members to connect with one another and are an essential community building block. If you do not want to receive contact requests, navigate to your profile page and under “My Account” select “Email Preferences” and under “Contact Requests” select “Do not send this type of email”. If you have made any them, be sure to save your changes at the bottom of the page.

WHAT ARE COMMENT NOTIFICATION EMAILS AND HOW DO I EDIT MY NOTIFICATIONS FOR THEM?

Comment Notification Emails are emails alerting you that someone has commented on content that you have created. To change your notification settings, navigate to your profile page and under “My Account” select “Email Preferences” and scroll down to “Comment Notification Emails”. You may continue to receive comment notifications via email or select “Do not send this type of email”. If you have made any changes, be sure to save them at the bottom of the page.
