An Integrative EMDR Therapy Approach to Treating Trauma, Addictions and other Compulsive Behaviors
Untreated trauma and "addiction memories" are believed to be fundamental contributors to the development of addictive and compulsive behaviors. EMDR is a memory-based therapy suggesting an important role in addiction treatment. Through lecture, discussion, video and practicum experiences participants will learn case conceptualization, specialized preparation, and synthesized target development (both trauma and addiction memories) toward an integrative EMDR therapy approach within the AIP model and the 8-phase, 3-pronged protocol.
