EMDR & Anxiety: Fears, Phobias and A Little OCD

This informational workshop outlines the types of anxiety disorders listed in the DSM 5 and two protocols that therapists can use to treat phobia, panic, and OCD. The first is Shapiro's protocol from her book "EMDR: Basic Principles, Protocols & Procedures". The second is Ad de Jongh's anxiety protocol from the 2015 EMDRIA Pre-Conference workshop including his Flash Forward targeting. Classic conditioning and how fears developed will be taught along with the AIP model as a foundation to work with anxiety disorders. The information presented will include the 8 phases of the standard protocol and the 3-pronged approach to reduce or extinguish anxiety activation in most clients.
